About us

The core aim of Taupua Waiora Research Centre is to make significant contributions aimed at reducing health and social inequities in Māori health, by improving evidence and knowledge that will enhance access and use of health and associated services, and promote positive outcomes and hauora for Māori whānau, hapū, iwi and communities.

Taupua Waiora Research Centre aims to:

  • Conduct high quality, innovative and relevant research that is responsive to current Māori health needs,
  • Generate knowledge to bring about positive change, and
  • Translate research findings in a meaningful way for whānau, hapū, iwi, communities, policy, practice and education.
